Gallery Artists - Group Show
August 6 - August 29, 2009
Pacini Lubel Gallery is pleased to present a group exhibition of gallery artists from August 6th through August 29th, 2009. This gallery wide annual summer celebration will include artists from all mediums - glass, ceramic, paintings, fiber, and mixed media. The broad expression of artistic impulse will expound the richness of both local and national talent.
Fiber artists like Charissa Brock (Oregon), Jill Nordfors Clark (Washington), Danielle Bodine (Washington), and Dona Anderson (Washington) will visually expand the sculptural spectrum by creating wall mount and table top pieces. Glass, gut and found objects find their way into these rich three dimensional objects.
Ceramic artists like Michael Lucero (New York), Wanxin Zhang (California), Ruth Borgenicht (New Jersey), Carol Gouthro (Washington), Charles Thomas (Washington), Gregory Roberts (California), and Lois Harbaugh (Washington), will all be included in this exhibition. The broad spectrum of ceramics included will range from the figure (Zhang), to the abstracted human form (Lucero) to natures beauty (Gouthro), to interrelated wall mount candelabra's (Roberts), to organically inspired teapots (Thomas), and whimsical holders that honor the tradition of handing down family heirlooms (Harbaugh), to integrated built up layers of chain links forming both wall and table top pieces (Borgenicht).
Painters, Alicia Tormey (Washington), Michael Paul Miller (Washington), David DeVillier (Idaho), and Meg Holgate (Washington) will exhibit paintings which range from emotionally charged figurative scenes (Miller) to intellectually curious encaustics (DeVillier) to explorations of northwest landscape (Tormey and Holgate).
Glass artists, Steve Klein (California), Kathleen Holmes (Florida), Michelle Knox (California) present three disparate approaches to their medium. Kiln formed sculpture (Klein), cast glass (Holmes) and blown glass (Knox) express a partial representation of the broad range of sculpture developed by glass artists.
Mixed Media artists Lanny Bergner (Washington), and John and Robin Gumaelius (Washington) will all have three dimensional sculpture exhibited. Wire, glassfrit are key elements for Lanny Bergner. Metal and mixed media ever present in John and Robin Gumaelius' whimsical but thought provoking sculptures.
Please join us for the opening of this exhibition on August 6th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
