Group Show - New Works
Pacini Lubel Gallery will present a group show during the month of August that highlights artists that
incorporate "texture" as an integral component of the art. Ceramists, glass artists, fiber artists and
painters all contribute to this exhibition. Leslie Rosdol uses mixed media coupled with ceramic to create
her fantasy small sized sculpture. Ceramist, Joey Chiarello presents his work for the first time to the
Northwest - a dog, a cat, a horse - all have richly applied images painted onto the surface.
Steve Hansen creates teapots that look like they are created from metal - yet the pieces are wholly ceramic
with richly surfaced bodies. Danielle Bodine uses paper and fiber to create her wall installations - a series
of pieces that are fantasy-like instruments create a harmonious grouping. Lanny Bergner creates floating sculpture
from metal, glass and mixed media that seem to float untethered. Cynthia Toops painstakingly creates wall reliefs
from Polymer Clay - these pieces reflect the notion that brilliance can come in "small packages". Painter, Andree Carter
will exhibit her multi layered and colored abstractions. These paintings are dense representations of light, color,
and texture harkening the viewer to interact both physically and intellectually. Meg Holgate's landscapes are finely
rendered paintings that create a mystical sense for the viewer - is this reality or fantasy? Glass artist Anna Skibska
creates glass sculpture that utilizes interwoven strands of thin glass - her architectural background is essential in
assuring the integral strength of the sculpture - light sparkles through these finely woven pieces.
In the West Gallery we are featuring new works by Russell Wrankle, Lisabeth Sterling, Orleonol Pitkin, Terry Johnson,
Kate Blacklock, Pat Bako, Alicia Lomne.
