Pacini Lubel will present the work of ceramists, Ronna Neuenschwander and Baba Wague Diakite in the East Gallery from May 3 through June 2, 2007.

Ronna Neuenschwander will exhibit a series of sculpture that enliven the cultural divide between her native America and the birthplace, Mali, of her husband, Baba Wague Diakite. The sculpture will incorporate a clear African influence, elongated mythical 4 legged figures will be brought to life while animal/human like forms stand guard.

Baba Wague Diakite will create a series of wall mounted ceramic plates that tell fables, tales and/ or stories that harken to his native Mali in addition to some large scale sculpture. The large scale sculpture will utilize the form of vessels and "fantasy" like figures that clearly are representative to his native land of Mali.

Ronna Neuenschwander and Baba Wague Diakite have exhibited their work nationally and internationally and their work is represented in numerous public institutions. Please join the artists for First Thursday on May 3rd from 6:00pm to 8:00 pm.

The West Gallery presents the work of gallery artists Kathleen Holmes, David Price, Jason Walker, KeKe Cribbs, Lissa Hunter, Joyce Scott and Geoffrey Laurence.
