other 2005 exhibits
July 7, - July 30, 2005.
Pacini Lubel will present the work of Kathleen Holmes in the East Gallery. Kathleen creates both paintings and three dimensional sculpture incorporating textiles. "Iām fascinated by the formal qualities of these textiles, by their patterns and textures. Equally important is the fact that they have been laboriously handmade from a single strand of cotton thread, a metaphor for the lives of the women who made them and a literal representation of the intricate patterns of family and community." In addition to the paintings, mixed media sculpture and handmade books with internal paintings will be exhibited.

The work of local painter, Terry Johnson will be presented in the West Gallery. Terry Johnson creates paintings that are masterfully rendered. Mood, lighting, position and imagery are all critically considered in these series of paintings. The paintings are open to viewer interpretation although classic form and presentation are inherent in the work.
Kathleen Holmes and Terry Johnson will present their work from July 7, 2005 to July 30, 2005.
